DC Universe: Dick/Jason/Tim - ‘Naked’
This piece was heavily inspired by Te, who has written a behemoth of a Tim!fanfic (208,000+ words) which she is currently posting a chapter a day over here. I’ve been reading her fics since I first got into the fandom in 2005, and I think it’s about time I drew something. Therefore, I am dedicating this piece to her.
Okay, so it’s not based on her fic ‘Sport Us While We May’ (inspired, rather), since I’ve not read anything even vaguely like what I drew XD;; If I were to describe her fic in 2 sentences, they will be - “Tim gets dosed with an anti-fear gas. Shenanigans of the NC-17 variety ensures.” The Jason/Tim bits especially fill me with GLEE, because they’re my OTP.
If I did fanart for the fic itself instead of being inspired by it, it’ll probably be something like Tim x Bruce x Jason x Dick x Babs x Steph x Roy x EVERYBODY ELSE. I have paper that big to work on. However, the skills to pull it off are something I lack :D;;
I am deeply fascinated by the idea of fearlessness, especially when explored through a character like Tim. I believe that to become truly fearless, a certain degree of emotional detachment is inevitable. So yes, I drew Tim to look somewhat removed from what his brothers are… engaging in with him.
The idea of nakedness here is less a physical one than an emotional one. Though physically as naked as the day that he was born, Tim’s mask hides his eyes, which I think ‘clothes’ him. In contrast Dick and Jason are completely exposed because their eyes give away whatever they are feeling and thinking. So it’s really his 2 older brothers that are naked, even if Tim is the one physically so.
No, Tim doesn’t have a bat tattoo in the fic. I just wanted to draw it, because… I WANTED TO DRAW IT. Maybe it was also to subtly slip Bruce into the drawing as well? Like how Rubynye asked for a Dick/Tim drawing, but I secretly slipped Jason in by drawing the scar on Tim’s throat >D
Man, I do ramble on. But I had so much fun drawing this one, even as I sit back now and regard each anatomical error with horror XD;;

NB: Original was done as a postcard-sized drawing, like almost all my recent drawings. So when blown up on screen, I think I’m exposing more drawing/inking errors than ever. Alas!
